Bayou Bedlam

February 9-11, 2024

Bayou Bedlam is the annual contradance festival held in Houston, Texas. The 2024 festival, our 30th, features Gaye Fifer calling to The Dam Beavers.

The Dam Beavers are Ben Schreiber on fiddle, Scotty Leach on piano, and Ness Smith-Savedoff on drums.

Gay Fifer

Gaye Fifer calls contra and English dances throughout the U.S. and Canada. An easy smile and delightful sense of humor are part of her relaxed, pleasant style at the microphone. She is also an enthusiastic advocate and instructor of contra-style waltz.

Gaye is the current President of the Board of the Country Dance & Song Society ,

Gaye will be using gender-free terms such as larks and robins in her teaching and calling.
